2:35 pm - Back.... well, not really
Hey remember how I was supposed to update this journal? Yeah, me too. Guess that never happened.

The truth is I no longer have time to update this mlj. I simply don't have the time. I was really feeling it last semester and I can already tell that it will be IMPOSSIBLE to do anything like that this semester. I have more than a full load of courses and two of them are very time consuming.

But I don't want to stop sharing music. I love spreading the jpop love around. So, I decided to try out something very new. I made a new mp3 sharing/music community called jpop_addiction. Although it has the word "jpop in the title" the music is not limited to just jpop. You can request and post mp3s of any kind. Also, it's not just a music sharing community. You can post about pretty much anything, as long as it relates to music. Hell, if you want to start a conversation on Bach, you can do that just as easily as a discussion on Utada Hikaru.

The rules are on the user info page. I'll be making my first post soon with a few mp3s and requests. If you have any questions at all, IM me at SneakNPeekAbout, or leave a comment here or on the community. If you're even the least bit curious, I recommend signing up. I don't know if this community will EVER get off the ground, but it might. I hope you all enjoy it!

Also I have never run a community before. I don't have any special banners or icons or anything like that. I figure, it the community gets off the ground, I might run a contest or something like that for making icons, or I'll just ask for voulenteers. Regardless, I'm new at this, so everyone be nice please!

This weeks update will probably be a little late. I'm SUPPOSED to be driving home after my last final tomorrow but Maine weather doesn't seem to want me to go home. As a result, the update probably won't be before Friday night and may come as late as Sunday. Sorry :(

12:57 pm - My Playlist
The rules have been changes slightly. Make sure you check them before requesting. Also the playlist is, at the moment, unfinished (stops mid-R), yet requests are still open. Hopefully I will have it finished by next week

Rules about requests
- It has to be a song from my list
- You can have up to five songs requested at a time
- Please tell me through LJ comment, not an e-mail or an IM.
- It's helpful if you tell me a specific song but this is by no means necessary
- It cannot be a song uploaded in the last five updates

Songs under the cut! The playlist has changed quite a bit from last time!

4:42 pm - Musiclost is going on hiatus
Er.... as you might have noticed, I have not updated in a while. This is due to the fact that it is late summer and between planning for school, packing, last minute appointments (dentist, doctors, hair etc.), and spending as much time with my home friends as possible before I leave, I'm pretty busy! I suspect that I will start updating again late September (around the time fall offically starts), or maybe early October. This way, I'll have plenty of time to adjust to school and school related things.

So I'll see you all then!

7:45 pm - Friends Only
There are so many rumors abound about the ysi situation! Some people say it's a hoax, some people don't. Anyways, because this whole thing makes me nervous I've decided to follow shekimusic's example and make musiclost friends only. I'll update as usual on friday with my first friends only post. I'll be adding a few of you that I know download from here all of the time but just in case I miss you, leave a comment that you'd like to be added. As long as you've already added me as a friend, I'll add you once I get the chance! Thanks to everyone for being so supportive about this!

10:25 pm - Bad news
Recently yousendit (the program which I use to host my music) has gotten angry with sites that have been using their services. Since they can track back the downloads to my journal I'm going to stop using ysi. youshareit is also inaccessible because they are doing this same thing. Because of that musiclost will go on hiatus or possibly shut down UNLESS I, or someone else, can find me a substitute for ysi. If you want to hear the whole story behind this I'd reccommend going over to either shekimusic or national_kid 's live journals. This really sucks. I enjoy musiclost to much and I'd hate to shut it down. If anyone else knows of any sites that can host my files, please post a comment.

12:04 pm - Update- day after tomorrow, Utada, Porno Graffiti, Janne da Arc, Olivia, Cherry Filter, Ai Otsuka
RULES!
1. Please comment if you take a song
2. I'm using yousendit to make the songs available to you. Therefore, if the Mp3s go down ahead of schedule, feel free to IM me or comment and bitch about it. I'll fix it.
3. These Mp3s are for sampling purposes only. Please delete them after 24 hours (yeah right, like that's going to happen). Support the artist by buying their CDs.
4. I'll only post Asian and other foreign music. If you want something by an American artist, buy the CD.

Here’s a bunch of new songs for your listening enjoyment! I have three requests up and four songs of my own choice

Artist- day after tomorrow
Song- Yuri no hana
Album- Yuri no hana
Genre- jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- This is dat’s newest single. It’s similar to their last one, Kimi to aeta kiseki, but still very good. It’s a mid-tempo/up-tempo song that’s a ton of fun. The most disappointing thing about this single is it only had 1 song and an instrumental, no B-side or remix or anything like that! Haven’t they learned from DAI that those singles don’t sell very well?
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Utada Hikaru
Song- Letters
Album- Deep River
Genre- jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- This song was actually requested at my last update but my file has mysteriously died on me! Luckily I managed to get my hands on a copy of her full Deep River album a couple days ago so I now have the song! It has a fun, dance-y, almost Latin feel to it that makes it very enjoyable. Love the use of different types of instruments in this song!
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Porno Graffiti
Song- Karma no Saka
Album- Wordilla
Genre- jpop/soft rock
Language- Japanese
Comments- Gotta love this guy’s voice! Here’s a nice, mid tempo song off of their Wordilla album. It’s not one of my favorites but that’s probably because I really enjoy their fast paced songs (comes from my first PG song being “Melissa.”). But it’s a pretty enjoyable song that Porno Graffiti fans should enjoy.
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Janne da Arc
Song- differ
Album- Mysterious
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- This is my favorite Janne de Arc. It’s a nice, fast paced rock song with AMAZING vocals. My friend made a comment that the lead singer sounded like a chipmunk but I think his voice suits the band perfectly. Pick it up now! I bet you’ll be just as addicted as I am!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- Sea Me (English Version)
Album- The Lost Lolli
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- Okay first off the video for this is wrong. No, there’s nothing wrong with the actual video but Olivia has platinum blonde hair. It’s practically white! But on to the song, this is a good rockish song by Olivia. Lyrics are a bit simplistic but still quite good. One of my favorites!
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Cherry Filter
Song- Orinalda II
Album- The Third Eye
Genre- krock
Language- Korean
Comments- One of my favorite Cherry Filter songs! Here’s an upbeat rockish song (another one!) that will get stuck in your head for ages. I love this lead singers voice in this! (another trend for today’s update)
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Ai Otsuka
Song- Kuroge Wagyuu Kamishio Tanyaki 680 Yen
Album- Kuroge Wagyuu Kamishio Tanyaki 680 Yen single
Genre- rockish jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- If you already have the Love Jam album I’d recommend downloading this anyway. It’s a different version than is on the album and is better than the original in my opinion. So this is Ai’s newest single off of Love Jam. It’s pretty good in my opinion. The single comes with 2 other tracks if anyone likes them. One is a quiet lounge like song and the other is just… bizarre and kind evil.

12:42 am - Request Update part deux
RULES!

First off, everyone here should go out and rent the movie Garden State. I almost cried! I never cry at movies!

Also for whoever requested Letters, I’m really sorry but for some reason my mp3 just died! I hope your other requests will suffice!

And I apologize about the links. LJ is being evil today for some reason.

Artist- Ayumi Hamasaki
Song- M
Album- I am…
Genre- jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- M is one of my all time favorite Ayumi Hamasaki songs (just after Never Ever.) I love how it starts out very softly and calmly and continues to build and build throughout the song until it explodes near the end. Quite a good one!
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=19RY287KK4QIX0I8LJGD7VNKH6

Artist- L’arc~en~ciel
Song- Forbidden Love (piano version)
Album- ???? (someone help me out here? I have no idea where this comes from)
Genre- piano
Language- n/a
Comments- The first thing I thought when listening to this song was, damn now I wish I had the normal version of this song. Unfortunately you receive none of sexy Hyde’s singing in this version of the song, it’s just a piano instrumental. Still you can tell it’s a very good song from just from listening to this.
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0LRLNCPCVS8HP0DWLOR58HQDNM

Artist- Luna Sea
Song- In Silence
Album- Period
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- I know very little about Luna Sea, only having a few of their songs (thanks to national_kid’s music LJ). But they seem to me to be a good rock band that sings really good rock music but nothing too crazy. Good for people who like their rock without a lot of screaming. Then again that could be just the songs I’ve heard. I really like the lead singer’s voice in this one! And I’m also impressed that he can pronounce the word “silence” without turning the L sound into an R.
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1BOGM9BIIYS740PFX8C564P2CD

Artist- Porno Graffitti
Song- Ai ga Yobu Hou E
Album- Best of Red’s
Genre- jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- Speaking about bands who have lead singers with excellent voices! Aw this song is so cute! This falls under what I like to call, happy songs. There’s something about it that just makes you want to smile. One of my favorites by them.
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1TN37EY6VOXZG3TWM5D5KME9F8

Artist- Shiina Ringo
Song- Gibbs
Album- Shouso Strip
Genre- jrock/ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- Here’s a favorite of almost every Shiina fan. Gibbs is something that most of Shiina’s songs is not, it’s simple. It’s a nice love song about an atypical couple. If you want to get into Shiina but are scared by her… more unique stuff, here’s a good place to start!
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=23C7K6918SVOV36EFGXSUYYIR2

Artist- Shiina Ringo
Song- byoushou public
Album- Shouso Strip
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- Here’s a really fun rock song from Shiina! I have no idea who the guy(girl?) who is singing in the beginning but it’s a great song nevertheless
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=343NF02OZRSHZ14S02UOKT7V7B

Artist- Ayumi Hamasaki
Song- Dearest
Album- I am…
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- This was my first Ayu song! I first saw it as an Inuyasha ending theme and then I became obsessed with it, playing it all of the time off of my computer. As a result… yeah I’m a little sick of it. Still, it’s a very pretty ballad, has a nice music video too.
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0LK7TJ1T4QT140P94EZ8OE7R5C

Artist- Ayumi Hamasaki
Song- A Song for XX
Album- A Song for XX
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- A Song for XX is Ayu’s first album and as a result the vocals on some of the tracks are, well, far from spectacular. Here’s where you find an exception. Although her vocals are not nearly as mature as her later albums, they’re a hell of a lot stronger. Good song for anyone who likes old school Ayumi!
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1QVYFN6VSP99W0UWQQZMGEA8M5

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- Boys and Girls
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- I notice often that Princess China songs, although they have the same melodies as the songs they cover, don’t have the same feeling. Boys and Girls was always more of a dance song in my mind but the Orchestra slows it down just a tad and makes it into a more soothing piece.
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1NP71GHGXQG5E1WTYPWM6RHHSU

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- M
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- Here’s the Princess China version of the Ayu song posted at the top of this update. Another good one!
http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=16VDSW5C6FFQX1BFEOMOZAI0SW

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- Moments
Album- Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- I hope you guys like this Princess China stuff cause I’ve posted a lot of it today. Here’s a really nice version of one of my favorite Ayumi ballads.

12:58 pm - Request Update
RULES!

Here’s a bunch of songs that have been requested recently. We have a nice mix of languages today! I'll be posting more requests later on today because I have a scary amount of free time today. Since I am not used to free time, I'm not sure what to do.

Artist- Chihiro Onistula
Song- Castle imitation (breath of fire version)
Album- Castle imitation single/Breath of Fire Ost
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- Ah I love Chihiro Onitsuka. I should post her songs more often! Now, here’s the original version of Castle imitation, the version used in the video game, Breath of Fire. It’s a lot more orchestral and sweeping than the version on Sugar High. I prefer the version from Sugar High myself, but this version is also very good.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Tarcy Su
Song- Lemon Tree
Album- Lemon Tree
Genre- cpop
Language- Cantonese
Comments- This song always makes me smile for some reason. It’s happy and bouncy but not in a typical poppy way. It’s very simple but it’s very enjoyable because it’s so simple. I don’t know much about the singer but she appears to be quite talented and quite a few CDs.
DOWNLOAD
NOTE- The file for this song says it is sung by Faye Wong. It isn't, so you'll just have to fix that. :)

Artist- Origa
Song- Mizu no Madoromi (Russian Version)
Album- Mizu no Madoromi/Fantastic Children Ending
Genre- ballad/folk
Language- Russian (der)
Comments- Although we didn’t have really a request for Origa I’ll take any excuse to put up some of her music. I picked up this song off of an mp3 rotation journal a couple weeks ago and I really enjoy it. It has a lot of nice real instruments in the background (a pipe, an acoustic guitar, and drums form what I can tell). It’s a very calming songs, and you all know that I love those. :)
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Yoko Kano feat. Origa
Song- Inner Universe
Album- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Ost.
Genre- techo-ish
Language- Russian/English
Comments- I’d also thought I’d show a completely different side to Origa. This is the song that most people know her by, this opening theme to Stand Alone Complex. It’s a more techno-ish song that fits her voice like a glove (strangely enough). I love how she effortlessly switches from her pop voice to a much more trained voice during the chorus (my ex-voice teacher would be proud).
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Faye Wong
Song- Hong Dou (Red Bean)
Album- ???????
Genre- ballad
Language- Chinese
Comments- Remember this song? Back when I first started putting up music I was convinced that this was the Chinese version of Eyes on me. I was corrected and now I finally have the right title to this song (or so I hope). It’s a very nice, sweeping ballad, much like the version of Castle Imitation I posted in this update. It’s quite pretty.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Rurutia
Song- elements
Album- R*
Genre- jpop/????
Language- Japanese
Comments- Rurutia has become very popular lately for some reason. I only own three songs of her myself but I enjoy them all. This one has an air of mystery to it that I really enjoy. It’s tricky to classify because it’s not really pop, it’s not r&b, and it’s no where near rock. Still, it’s a really nice song that you should all try. I picked this song up originally from mamimiko's music lj.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Rurutia
Song- PAVAANU
Album- Water Forest
Genre- alt. ballad????
Language- Japanese
Comments- This song also has one of those air of mysteries like elements although this almost as a rock edge to it when you get to the chorus. Also like elements, it’s a very good song. Rurutia really does a lot of unique music!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- fra-foa
Song- edge of life
Album- 13 leaves
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- Well someone asked for my favorite fra-foa song, so here it is. I actually posted this a while ago (in November I think) but I think that it will be away to post this again. I don’t know what it is about this song but I love it. Maybe it’s the way that is slowly builds up then completely kicks you in the face. Or it could the fact that it’s a vocally challenging song. It’s just a great, powerful, rock song.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- Fly High
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- Fly High was one of my first Ayumi Hamasaki songs and it’s still one of my favorites. The Princess China Music Orchestra is quite good as well. It’s similar to all of the other Princess China songs I’ve posted so if you liked those, give these a try.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Shibasaki Kou
Song- Glitter
Album- Glitter single
Genre- jpop
Language- Japanese
Comments- This song has been stuck in my head all day, and I do mean all day. It’s a really fun upbeat jpop song (and the cover to the single is really pretty too!) that makes me smile. I really enjoy Shibasaki Kou songs, I wish I could find more by her!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- Fake Flowers
Album- The Lost Lolli
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- Here’s another great song by Olivia. This one is a guitar driven rock song that, for a while, was one of my favorite songs by her. It’s not nearly as original as some of her other songs but that doesn’t make it bad. Enjoy!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- Devil’s In Me
Album- The Lost Lolli
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- Here’s another song from the same vein of Fake Flowers. It’s just a bit darker.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- noodles
Song- Black Cover
Album- Fuzz Hill
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- I've heard this band referred to as the English version of the The Pillows, one of the bands that got me interested in jpop/jrock. Unfortuantly they're not nearly as well known as The Pillows but their music is very good. It's not hard rock like Dir en Grey, poprock like DAI or popular rock like L'arc~en~ciel but more alternative jrock. This is a fun, song with a great guitar line. One of my favorites.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Twelve Girls Band
Song- Loulan Girl
Album- Shining Energy
Genre- traditional
Language- n/a
Comments- Beleive it or not I still have a bunch of 12gb songs in the request log that I should probably be putting up with these songs because they were requested first. I guess I don't think logically :). I'm going to be putting up a few more this week cause they tend to be pretty popular anyway. I wish I knew the name of the instrument featured in this song (it makes a very creepy noise). It's so cool. Here's another mid-tempo song from Twelve Girls band.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Twelve Girls Band
Song- Inside the Rythem
Album- Red Hot Classics
Genre- traditional????
Language- n/a
Comments- Meh this isn't my favorite Twelve Girls Band, mostly because the emphasis doesn't seem to be on their beautiful playing but the obnoxious beat in the background. It's not a bad song, I just wish that they would have kept the emphasis on the the girls! Also, there are sometimes in the song where the girls don't mesh well with the rest of the song, which is odd.

11:07 am - Update- Need Your Love
RULES!

Well today’s update is going up a day early because I feel like it . Today I have DAIs new CD up for your listening pleasure. Let me tell you. It’s very good. Just what you’d expect from a great band like DAI! Now, because I know everyone doesn’t like DAI (I have no idea why) I’ll be putting up an update of requests next week. If anyone would like to make a new request they can do so now or wait until I post my updated playlist this weekend. If there are no requests I’ll just post a few songs that were requested a couple weeks ago. Here you go. Oh and by the way if you don’t get to these files before they expire and you really want then, try to request them before next Friday afternoon/evening and I’ll put them up in next Friday’s update.

Song- For the Future
Genre- jpop/jrock
Comments- This is DAI’s newest single. I’m sure everyone’s heard it by now. I personally really enjoy it and I think a fast song is the perfect way to start out the album. It really grabs your attention.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Blue
Genre- jrock/jpop
Comments- This song is a bit mellower than for the future but it’s still a very good song by DAI. It reminds me of something you’d find on there True Song album, which is my favorite of DAIs albums.
DOWNLOAD

Song- BE FREE
Genre- jrock/jpop
Comments- Yes, I’m also confused as to why they put this on this album when it was already on their Do the B-sides album. I guess they wanted it to be available to people who already owned all of their singles and didn’t feel like picking up the B-sides albums. It’s still a good song and I enjoy it.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Rakuen
Genre- ballad/jpop
Comments- Okay everyone knows this song right? Very touching ballad-y song? Ending to the 4th Inuyasha movie? I’m a bit confused as to why they put all of their recent singles at the beginning of the album but I just love this song. The PV’s great too. Van-chan wears a pretty dress. 
DOWNLOAD

Song- Ever
Genre- ballad
Comments- First off I gotta warn you, a lot of DAI fans don’t like this song very much. Personally it’s not one of my favorites of the album but I still find it very cute. It has a lullaby feeling to it that reminds me of Chihiro Onitsuka’s King of Solitude, even though the two songs little nothing in common. It’s a very relaxing song so give it a chance!
DOWNLOAD

Song- one flesh
Genre- jpop/jrock
Comments- Ooh this is one of my favorite songs on the album. I notice that on this album DAI’s is doing a lot of cool stuff with repetition and you notice it a lot of this, mid-tempo song. I think that this is also a theme for a Japanese Drama but I can’t remember the name. And yes, the name is weird. I half expect the lyrics to be about sex.
DOWNLOAD

Song- robot
Genre- jpop/jrock
Comments- Can anyone say tango-influence? Don’t worry that’s a good thing. People should remember this song from the PV that I posted last week. It’s a lot of fun and one of my favorite songs on the album. The beat reminds me a lot of an older Ayu song but I can’t remember what it’s called for the life of me and I’m too lazy to look through my mp3s to find it out.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Yotaka no Yume
Genre- jpop/jrock
Comments- Meh not my favorite song on the CD, although I like it more and more every time I listen to it. It’s just not as polished as some of the other songs on the album but it does have a very good chorus!
DOWNLOAD

Song- Ultimate GV
Genre- jpop/jrock
Comments- Dude this also reminds me of another song by Ayumi Hamasaki (July 1st) for some bizarre reason. It’s a fun fast paced song. Not one of my favorites on the album but still very good.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Need Your Love
Genre- ballad
Comments- Gah! So friggen pretty! This is a ballad that rivals Yesterday and Today when it comes to kickassness. It has strings, and really nice bells in the background. I’m a sucker for ballads myself and for bells so I love this song. That’s right. I’m a sucker for bells. Playing 6 years of handbells at church will do that to you 
DOWNLOAD

Song- na no hanabatake
Genre- ballad
Comments- This might be my favorite song on the album but apparently I’m a weirdo because I don’t know anyone who loves this as much as I do. It’s probably one of the most simplistic DAI songs I’ve ever heard. All you have, for most of the song, is a very pretty piano and Van-chan’s beautiful voice and a little bit of Ryo’s guitar playing here and there. Then a sexy saxophone kicks in the end. Don’t worry, that’s not a bad thing either. It might have been because of the uber-stress I’ve been experiencing lately but when I first heard this song I almost cried it was so beautiful and simple. I recommend you download it.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Hiiragi (acoustic version)
Genre- ballad
Comments- Lots of people criticize this song for being too close to the original so it doesn’t really feel like a bonus track. My theory, the song was great to begin with, so why change it dramatically? It’s a nice track. It’s interesting to see the album end on such a quiet note.

9:40 am - Update- Angela Chang, GO!GO!7188, Olivia, Princess China Music Orchstra, Utada Hikaru and DAI
RULES!

Woot! I had a snow day yesterday so I got such a head start on the whole homework thing. Also, anyone who’s a fan of Avex artists should note that on the 16th, four of their bigger artists are releasing stuff. Do As Infinity has a new album called Need Your Love (if you want to check out their newest PV scroll down to the bottom). Every Little thing is coming out with an acoustic album. Also Naime Amuro and Aikawa Nanase are releasing ballad mini album. So on to the music!

Artist- Angela Chang
Song- Fu Yun
Album- Aurora
Genre- cpop
language- Mandarin
Comments- I found out about Angela Chang very recently when I downloaded two of her sounds from mamimiko's mp3 rotation journal. Now I’m obsessed with her music. I downloaded everything I could find by her and I love it! This song is actually another version of a song by Shibasaki Kou called Ukigumo. It’s a very pleasant peaceful song that I’m in love with. My roommate probably wants to kill me because I’ve been playing both versions of this song many times in the past few weeks. I’d like to know if anyone can help me with this song. Do you know which version of this song is the original or if it’s based on an older song? I’d love to hear another version of it.

Artist- Angela Chang
Song- Qi Dian
Album- Aurora
Genre- cpop, r&b?, ballad?
language- Mandarin
Comments- Here’s another great song by Angela Chang. I love how it starts out with a simple piano playing and then adds layers and layers until there’s a lot going on in the chorus. It’s a very pretty song. Listening to Angela Chang really makes me wish I had more Chinese music to listen to!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- GO!GO!7188
Song- Kanngae Goto
Album- Ryuzetsuran
Genre- jrock, rock ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- I downloaded GO!GO!7188’s Ryuzetsuran album soon after it came out and I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ve recently “rediscovered” this song and the kickassness of it all. It’s one of their softer songs (much softer than most of their stuff!). It starts out with Akko (the bassist) singing which is very interesting because she doesn’t do much besides backup singing. She has a lovely voice but it lacks the uniqueness of Yuu’s. Give this song a try. It’s quite good.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- The color of your spoon
Album- Synchronicity
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- Here’s one of Olivia’s better known ballads. It’s off her first album and it’s very nice. I hear the PV is quite moving too (not that I can find it). I have no idea what the title means but it sure sounds cool. It’s a good one.

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- SEASONS
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- I’ve posted a few Princess China songs in the past and here’s another good one. It’s, of course, a cover of Ayu’s seasons, a very good ballad. It’s not one of my favorites from the CD (not as creative as some of the others) but it’s very nice nevertheless.

~REQUEST~

Artist- Utada Hikaru
Song- Colors (acoustic version)
Album- Unknown
Genre- jpop, ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- I think this is the third time I’ve posted this song (apparently people really like it) but it was requested so here you go! Enjoy!

1:41 pm - Special Update: Twelve Girls Band
RULES!

Special Request Update! Today I put up nine songs by twelve girls band. Just in case you haven’t downloaded any of the Twelve Girls Band songs that I’ve put up in the past, let me tell you a few things about them. Don’t be turned off by the fact that it’s twelve chicks playing traditional Chinese instruments. They have as much energy as half of the japanese musicians out there and can put as much emotion into their songs as any singer. They play their own music but many people are attracted to them because of their covers. For instance, they did a cover of Coldplay’s clocks that everyone seems to enjoy. Also it’s very easy for people in the United States to pick up their music now. They have two albums out here (Eastern Energy and Freedom) and they’re both under fifteen dollars on amazon.com. That’s pretty good if you consider the fact that Eastern Energy comes with a DVD and Freedom has two discs. I own Eastern Energy and plan on picking up Freedom as soon as possible.

So give their music a try! Enjoy! I recommend listening to them with headphones.

All The songs listed below are requests.

Song- Shining Energy
Album- Shining Energy
Comments- This is a very light, happy, Twelve Girls Band song. It’s mid-tempo and one of my favorites off of their Shining Energy Album. I apologize the crappy comments. I would get into more detail if I actually KNEW what the instruments are called and I had a little more time.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Kiko
Album- Shining Energy
Comments- My favorite type of Twelve Girls Band songs has to be their more fast paced ones. Kiko is a good example of that. It’s a pretty fast paced, high energy song, with an infectious melody that really grabs your attention. If I could dance, I would totally dance to this.
DOWNLOAD

Song- lihi Tabi Dachi
Album- Shining Energy
Comments- This is a very pretty slow/mid-paced songs that I find very relaxing. It has a very elegant feel to it that I enjoy.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Victory
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- Here’s another fast paced one. This should make fans of their most popular single, Freedom, quite happy.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Toki No Nagare Ni Mi O Makase
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- Another slow paced one. It’s very pretty.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Asu-E No Tobira
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- Here’s a happy, pretty one. One of the songs I listen to when I wan to cheer up!
DOWNLOAD

Song- Horse Racing
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- There’s a lot of energy in this song that reminds me of, well… horse race. It’s a lot of fun and very unique. Oh, and it’s short.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Take Five
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- If anyone’s looking for a good cover, look no further. It’s a cover of Take Five (can’t remember who recorded it originally) and there’s something really amusing about it. I guess I never pictured Chinese instruments covering such a classic and doing so well.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Fantasy
Album- Shining Energy
Comments- Another song that really suits its title. This piece has a whole air of mystery around it and some interesting sounds going on in the background. I recommend it. It’s very relaxing as well.
DOWNLOAD

Song- Life Over the Clouds
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- For some reason the first couple minutes of song really reminds me of the movie Hero, an amazing movie that everyone should see. It’s a very good mid-tempo song. Download it!
DOWNLOAD

Song- Meeting in Mongolian House
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- Another good, mid-tempo songs. Enjoy!
DOWNLOAD

Song- S.D. Garden
Album- Red Hot Classics
Comments- I love the build up to this song, it’s so echo-y and mysterious. Also, it has a great beat in the background. I really hope everyone enjoys the songs I posted today. I sure enjoyed listening to them again.

Sorry I haven’t done the Twelve Girls Band update yet but things have gotten very busy at school. When I have the chance, I’ll put it up. Today I have two requests and four choices of my own. Enjoy!

Artist- CORE OF SOUL
Song- AGEHA
Album- AGEHA single
Genre- jpop
language- Japanese
Comments- This is CORE OF SOUL’s newest single that came out this past week. I’ll be honest, I’m not overly in love with the intro to this song but once the band kicks in, I’m enjoying. It’s not as good as some of COS’s older stuff but it’s still very good. It’s a very happy song that will make you smile. I also have the B-side for this single if anyone’s interested.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- CORE OF SOUL
Song- Full Moon Prayer
Album- Natural Beauty
Genre- jpop
language- Japanese
Comments- Unlike AGEHA, I love the beginning on this one. There’s something really neat about it. The rest of the song is really cool too. Damn I need to download more CORE OF SOUL. I’ve already posted half of their songs I own!
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Mika Nakashima
Song- sakurairo maukoro
Album- sakurairo maukoro single
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese
Comments- This song is so friggen awesome. I’ve enjoyed everything that I’ve heard by Mika in the past but there’s something about this song that’s so very touching. It’s a beautiful piano ballad that’s soft for most of the song but eventually escalates into something very powerful. I love Mika Nakashima’s voice. It has a jazzy edge to it that sets her apart from the rest of jpop singers out there.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- Dreamcamp
Album- The Lost Lolli
Genre- ballad?
Language- Olivia
Comments- This is probably one of my favorite Olivia songs, not so much because of the song (that’s really cool too) but because of the emotional attachment I have with it. Seriously, last November I was having issues with my boyfriend that this song, hell, her entire Lost Lolli album, really helped me get through. I can really relate to the lyrics in this song. But, this is a very good song, very slow paced but very nice.
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Shiina Ringo
Song- Identity
Album- Shouso Strip
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- Dude this song just kicks… something. It’s another great Shiina song. It’s jrock, it’s strange, it has a cool guitar part, and all of this weird stuff going on in the background. I acquired this song only a little while ago and I’ve been playing it like crazy. So if you love Shiina as much as I do, do yourself a favor and download this one.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Sambomaster
Song- hito ha sore wo jountesu to yobu
Album- Atarashiki nihongo rock no michi to hikari
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese
Comments- Here’s a band that’s a lot less known then any of the bands/artists I have up already today. But they still kick ass. Seriously, there the type of band that I can see smashing guitars and doing all that other fun rock stuff that no one seems to do anymore. This is one of their more mellow songs but it’s just a good. I love the whole garage band sound that they have.

2:05 pm - News and Rules
Below I have rules on requests and news about a new feature that’s going to be offered at musiclost. If you think you might ever make a request, please read the rules, if you don’t, just skip them.

Rules about requests
Okay requests are good right? I think so too. They give me a better idea on what you want to see and give you the songs you want to hear. From now on you’ll only be able to request five song but, if you have already requested five songs and I grant one of your requests, you can request another song. Make sense?

Also, if you request a song it cannot be a song that has been uploaded in the past ten updates. Thanks!

News
I’m thinking about occasionally having another update at music lost. It will consist all of music by a same artist, a blurb about their music, and about a half dozen songs by the artist/band/whatever. This probably will happen mid week (Tuesday or Wednesday) but seeing as I am busy it won’t happen every week. So it will be a pleasant surprise I guess you could say. I know that my first mid-week update will be on Twelve Girls band (because SOMEONE had to request about twenty songs by them, hehe,  ). If you have any other artists you’d like to see a big update on leave a comment. Obviously, it has to be someone that I own a considerable amount of songs by. This sound like a good idea?

Well I'm off to class now? Does anyone here know french?

Today I put up three requests and three other songs. Enjoy!

Artist- Ai Otsuka
Song- Strawberry Jam
Album- Love Jam
Genre- jpop
language- Japanese
Comments- This song is so much fun. I guess you could call it the title track for Ai’s album, Love Jam, because it’s the only song with a Jam references. It’s a nice, kinda jazzy midpace song that I’ve always enjoyed listening to. Glad to know there are some more Ai fans out there!

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- ourselves
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- traditional/orchestral
language- n/a
Comments- I’m glad people are enjoying Princess China Music Orchestra. Here’s another song that I think translates very well into a more traditional song. I don’t know what it is about it but it’s always been one of my favorite songs on the CD. Like the original, it has an almost dizzying effect.
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Olivia
Song- Ballerina
Album- Into the Stars Single
Genre- ballad
Language- Japanese and English
Comments- This is probably one of the prettier songs that Olivia has put out. Although it’s not as fiercely unique as some of her other songs it has a soothing, pleasant feeling to it that I really enjoy.
DOWNLOAD
~REQUEST~

Artist- Origa
Song- ~La Ronde Lunaire~
Album- The Best of Origa
Genre- um.... not sure
Language- Russian?
Comments- There seems to be quite a few Origa fans out there. Here's another great song from her best album. It ranges from very slow to mid-tempo and it's a very pretty song. If you enjoyed the other Origa songs I've posted I'm sure you'll love this. It has a little more energy :)
DOWNLOAD

Artist- The Brilliant Green
Song- That Boy Waits For Me
Album- The Winter Album
Genre- upbeat jrock
Language- English (really bad English :) )
Comments- I haven't posted a BuriGuri song and a while and seeing as it's winter (today it might get up to 19 degrees! amazing!) I figured something from the winter album would be appropriate. This is an upbeat fun song that's very typical of the Brilliant Green. The lyrcis are pretty good too, although you can't tell just by listening to it.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Cherry Filter
Song- Forget
Album- ?????
Genre- krock/kpop
language- Korean
Comments- Ah this band is so good but their music is SO HARD TO FIND! Cherry Filter is a great independant Korean band whose music I just love, even though I only have three of their songs. This is really good song where the lead singer gets to really show off her great voice (great voice!). I'm thinking about buyicong one of their CDs so if you like this song I may have more of their music up in the future.

Special Request Update!
I got a ton of requests recently so I decided to make a special request post for a few of the songs they seemed to want the most. Enjoy! The normal update will probably bit a day or two late this week, as I will have less access to my computer than usual.

Artist- Do as Infinity
Song- Mahou no Kotoba (Would You Marry Me)
Album- Gates of Heaven
Genre- jpop
language- Japanese
Comments- I notice that I seem to get a positive response whenever a DAI song is posted. This makes me happy, seeing as they’re one of my favorite bands. This song is very poppy and very different from some of their older stuff but still, very catchy and very good. It has a real polished feeling to it that I enjoy very much.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Judy and Mary
Song- Daydream
Album- J.A.M.
Genre- poppy jrock
language- Japanese
Comments- First off, I apologize that the volume is a little low. Secondly, you should download this one anyways. This is one of my absolute favorite Judy and Mary songs. It’s just so bouncy and fun. Not to mention that it has a super great guitar solo that makes me wish I knew how to play. Yuki’s voice has never sounded better.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Tommy Heavenly6
Song- Wait till I can dream
Album- Wait till I can dream single
Genre- jrock
Language- Japanese with some English
Comments- Although I love The Brilliant Green, it’s harder for me to warm up to Tommy’s side projects. I’ve enjoyed some of her Tommy febuary6 songs but others I just found to be annoying. As far as Tommy heavenly6 goes, I really disliked the first song I heard from her (Hey my friend) because it sounded a little too much like another song I disliked. Wait till I can dream is another story. It’s a really fun, rockish song that’s more “The Brilliant Green” then anything she’s ever put out.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Princess China Music Orchestra
Song- Dearest
Album- Ayumi Hamasaki Songs meet Princess China Music Orchestra
Genre- traditional/orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- Dearest is a very pretty ballad by Ayumi Hamasaki, but the Princess China Music Orchestra seem to bring it to another level completely with their use of traditional Chinese instruments. This song has a lot to emotion to it and it’s a very beautiful pleasant listen. I really enjoy Princess China Music Orchestra and was glad to see someone requested them!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Twelve Girls Band
Song- Jasmine
Album- Shining Energy
Genre- traditional/orchestral
Language- n/a
Comments- I discovered Twelve Girls band this fall when I purchased their American release, Eastern Energy. I immediately fell in love with them. Here was twelve talented chicks who could play traditional Chinese instruments in ways that I never thought was possible. They did Coldplay and Enya covers but did Chinese songs as well. This one is a very soothing mid-tempo song that for some reason reminds me of green tea.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Twelve Girls Band
Song- Swan Lake
Album- Shining energy
Genre- traditional/orchestral
language- n/a
Comments- I occasionally listen to classical music (at home my channel gets those cool music channels) and I really like the music of Swan Lake. I also enjoy the story behind it. I think the Twelve Girls Band does a very good job of covering this classic, not an easy thing to do. They managed to bring their own flavor to it without destroying the song.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Cocko (or Cocco)
Song- Sing a Song ~No Music, No life~
Album- Cocko (EP)
Genre- jrock
language- English
Comments- Here’s something rare. This is a track off of Cocco’s EP (released under the name Cocko). It’s the original version of Sing a Song ~No Music, No Life~. To be honest I enjoy this version a lot better than the one on her debut album. I love the mixing of the guitar with the organ and on whole it’s a more fulfilling song and portrays Cocco better. But anywho, it’s a good song and I wish I could understand everything she’s saying at the end!
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- 57StoRM03
Album- Comatose Bunny Butcher
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- This is a favorite of mine by Olivia. It’s a slowish song that accelerates to more mid-tempo in the chorus and near the end but never really becomes to harsh. On a whole it’s very mellow. I love the way she uses repetition of sounds here without making the song sound boring. I don’t know why I enjoy this song so much but something about it just connects well with me. Also, her voice sounds great in this song.
DOWNLOAD

Artist- Olivia
Song- Purple Box
Album- The Return of the Chlorophyll Bunny
Genre- jrock
Language- English
Comments- This is another good song of Olivia’s. It has a very strong presence of drums and a nice rhythm in the background, despite the fact that this is a relatively slow paced song. Although I have to say that there are some really bizarre lyrics in this song. It’s all fine and dandy until she get to the part about bunny’s and carrots.
